Rotator Cuff Surgery Rehab

Overview

Recovering from a rotator cuff repair takes time, patience, and the right plan. In the early stages, it’s common to feel shoulder stiffness, weakness, and even some pain with everyday activities like dressing or reaching overhead. At City South Physio, we’ll guide you through each stage of your rehabilitation, ensuring you progress safely while protecting the surgical repair.

Your program will begin with gentle, controlled mobility exercises to prevent stiffness and maintain healthy movement. As always, these are in alignment with your surgeon’s requests and protocols. Once your range of movement improves, we will commence strengthening exercises to allow your to regain normal function again. All the while, we will continue to provide hands-on treatment to soothe your tight muscles and joints. This helps restore function, reduce discomfort, and give your shoulder the support it needs for long-term recovery.

Depending on your specific type of rotator cuff surgery, we may also include higher level Clinical Pilates based exercises, or more gym-based exercises, to allow you to regain the optimal function of your shoulder.

Our goal is to work with you to not only rebuild your shoulder, but also prevent further issues, giving you strength, stability, and confidence for the future.
